A Very Special First School Visit
On December 12, 2025, Fuzzy Dragon and I experienced a milestone that will forever hold a special place in our hearts—our very first school visit. The day was filled with laughter, imagination, and meaningful connections as we were warmly welcomed into Moody Elementary School. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this would be an unforgettable reading adventure, both for the students who gathered to meet Fuzzy Dragon in person and for us.
This visit marked an exciting new chapter for Fuzzy Dragon Wonders, bringing the story off the page and into a real-world learning environment where creativity and curiosity thrive.
Sharing Fuzzy Dragon Wonders With Young Readers
During our visit, we had the joy of reading Fuzzy Dragon Wonders to four wonderful classes: one first-grade class, two second-grade classes, and one third-grade class. Each classroom brought its own energy and personality, yet all shared the same enthusiasm for storytelling and discovery.
As Fuzzy Dragon came to life during the reading, students listened intently, laughed at the playful moments, and eagerly followed along with the story. Seeing their faces light up reminded us why children’s literature matters. Stories have the power to spark imagination, encourage empathy, and open doors to new ideas at an early age.

Inspiring Conversations About Dreams and Imagination
After the reading, the conversations that followed were truly the heart of the day. Students eagerly shared their dreams and talked about what they hope to become as they grow up. The classroom buzzed with excitement as future veterinarians, astronauts, artists, and countless other dreamers raised their hands to speak.
These moments reinforced the message behind Fuzzy Dragon Wonders—believe in yourself, use imagination as a strength, and help others along the way. The students’ openness and creativity turned each discussion into a meaningful exchange rather than a one-way presentation.
A Gift for the School Library and an Invitation to Return
One of the most meaningful moments of the visit was meeting Principal Cisco and donating a copy of Fuzzy Dragon Wonders to the Moody Elementary School Library. Knowing that students will continue to discover Fuzzy Dragon during their library time made the experience even more rewarding.
To our absolute delight, we were invited back to read to the entire school. Fuzzy Dragon is already practicing for classes six and seven, and I am eagerly counting down the days until we return. Expanding this experience to the whole student body is an opportunity we are incredibly grateful for.
Gratitude for the Teachers Who Made It Possible
This special day would not have been possible without the dedication and support of the teachers who opened their classrooms to us. A heartfelt thank-you goes to Ms. Gaiser, Ms. Henderson, Ms. Stead, and Ms. Steed. Each classroom was filled with kindness, curiosity, and students who truly embodied the spirit of young superheroes-in-training.
Your commitment to nurturing imagination and encouraging big dreams made this visit not only successful but also deeply impactful. It was an honor to share a story that aligns so beautifully with the values you foster every day.

Community Support Behind the Scenes
We are also incredibly thankful to Erica Hilburn and Nikki Washington, whose connections with their children’s teachers helped bring this visit to life. Their support played a key role in turning an idea into a meaningful experience for so many students.
Additional thanks go to JaLuRu Publishing for sponsoring the visit and to Carl at Peoples Management for coordinating the logistics that ensured everything ran smoothly. Behind every successful school reading adventure is a team working quietly to make the magic happen.
Looking Ahead to More Storytelling Adventures
Fuzzy Dragon and I left Moody Elementary School with full hearts, big smiles, and excitement for what lies ahead. This first school visit confirmed just how powerful in-person storytelling can be, especially when it brings children, educators, and books together in a shared experience.
We cannot wait to return and continue spreading the magic of Fuzzy Dragon Wonders, inspiring young readers to dream big, believe in themselves, and help others wherever their imaginations take them next.
